One of the great joys of my job as a stand up comedy coach is helping the students in my comedy classes to grow in comedy confidence and develop their stand-up skills. And one of the other great joys is watching the results. The comedy fledglings of my Autumn 2018 stand-up comedy course at Komedia Brighton went from nervous as hell on week one of my Komedia Brighton comedy class to nervous as hell but on stage in front of over 200 people on week twelve!
I've really enjoyed being on their exciting journey of discovery, development, laughs, new found confidence and friends over the last twelve weeks. It concluded last night with them taking to the stand-up stage for the very first time in our "New Act Night" show at Brighton's Komedia. I could not be prouder of these funny wonderful comedy fledglings. My stand-up comedy class of Autumn 2018 raised the roof in the huge Main Space at Komedia Brighton last night. What a show!
And my Komedia Brighton comedy course graduate the lovely Angela Barnes despite a very busy radio and television schedule still came back to MC our "New Act Night" show. It's been nine years since she was one of my stand-up comedy fledglings. I'm very much enjoying still being a small part of Angela's journey and a big part of watching all the wonderful results.
