Jill's Comedy Course Graduates Win Chortle Award Two Years in a Row...

Jill Edwards Comedy Course Graduates Ben, Martin, Erica & James aka Goat Comedy

Exciting! I'm sending out huge congratulations to my Komedia Brighton comedy course graduates Ben Robson, Martin Wratten and James Ellis. They are collectively known as "Goat Comedy," which is a totally unique monthly comedy club in the Southern Belle pub in Hove. It uniquely features regular characters, audience games, innovative comedians and all manner of original comedy madness in between. It's very popular and it has a very loyal following.

"Goat Comedy" has just won "Best comedy club in the South" at the Chortle Awards for the second year in a row! It's so well deserved and I could not be prouder of the "Goat Comedy" crew.

I'm also delighted that Komedia Brighton has won "Best venue in the South" for a record breaking 14th time! I cannot imagine a venue that deserves the title "Best venue in the South" more than Brighton's Komedia. I'm so proud that my stand-up comedy courses and comedy club "Comic Boom" get to call this brilliant venue home.

James Ellis has also joined forces with fellow comedy course at Komedia graduate James Tully to create monthly comedy club "Laugh Shack" in the Komedia's intimate Studio Bar. It's another interesting comedy night. In addition to a strong line-up of newer stand-up comics it features my award winning stand-up comedy course graduate Sam Savage as her hilarious character Linda Larkin. She appears in the guise of Linda Larkin Agony Aunt and attempts to "solve the audiences problems" in her own section of the show. It's a glorious section.

"Laugh Shack" also has a totally uncurated middle section where absolutely anyone can turn up and try their hand at stand-up comedy. It can be cringey. It can be embarassing. It can be surprising. But it's always a great night.

Over the past fourteen years my stand-up comedy course at Komedia Brighton graduates have started-up a range of exciting comedy clubs. They now run most of the excellent local comedy clubs on the thriving Brighton comedy scene. I'm so very proud of them all. I'm looking forward to more of them winning Chortle Awards. Or to "Goat Comedy" winning "Best comedy club in the South" for the third year in a row!
